New screenshots of the updated version of Cache for Counter-Strike 2 have appeared online. The images were shared by insider Thour, while Valve itself continues to hint at the imminent return of the iconic map.
According to the leak, Cache has received a revamped visual style and technical improvements. Insiders claim that the updated version of the map will run more smoothly and deliver higher FPS. Valve has not officially confirmed these details yet, but the company has already changed the Counter-Strike 2 account banner on X to an image resembling Cache, and later posted a video asking: “What are you doing next week?”
Earlier, Valve acquired the rights to Cache from the map’s creator Shawn “FMPONE” Snelling, while FACEIT added it to the rotation following a community vote. According to Insider Gaming, the update featuring Cache may release in late April or early May 2026.
Cache is considered one of the most popular maps in Counter-Strike history. It joined the Active Duty pool in 2014, but was replaced by Vertigo in 2019 and has not returned to the official competitive pool since. Judging by Valve’s recent activity, the wait may finally be coming to an end.
By the way, last month Valve banned nearly a million bots in Counter-Strike 2 and made major changes to the recharge system.
What do you think of the updated Cache?
