Despite ongoing financial struggles, publisher Nacon has confirmed that Nacon Connect 2026 is officially back on the calendar. The showcase had previously been postponed due to what the company described as a "challenging economic situation."
Nacon has now officially announced that the broadcast will take place on May 17. A teaser for the event highlights several titles from the publisher's internal studios, including the co-op shooter The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, the JRPG Edge of Memories, the racing sim Endurance Motorsport Series, and the shooter Hunter: The Reckoning — Deathwish.
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is currently slated for release on July 15, just two months after the presentation. Meanwhile, Hunter: The Reckoning — Deathwish is scheduled for a Summer 2027 launch, making a firm release date unlikely to appear anytime soon. Edge of Memories is still expected to arrive before the end of this year.
It is worth noting that Nacon filed for bankruptcy in February, leading to a suspension of its shares on the Euronext Paris exchange. In an official press release, management stated that "immediate financial restructuring" was necessary, admitting that current assets were insufficient to meet outstanding debts. Following this announcement, reports emerged that the company had halted payments to staff at Cyanide, Spiders, and Kylotonn, affecting an estimated 320 employees. Spiders appears to be among the hardest hit; it was recently confirmed that the studio behind GreedFall and Steelrising has closed its doors.
In other showcase news, the runtime for the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day Direct was recently revealed.
